2 fast 2 furious...

went to the transhow with mark, nette and a girl-riend of mark. wala lang..nothing spectacular. parang as each year goes by...umoolats lalo yung transhow. isa lang EG hatch na nakita ko...olats pa. may dalawang EK hatch, pero ayus lang. tapos puro sounds show na...medyo 2 fast 2 furious din masyado yung pintura ng mga oto this year. wala lang. usually, bumabalik pa ako to check out the cars again...pero parang tinamad talaga ako this year. walang ganun ka-ok eh. too ricey for me. daming stickers, wierd artistic paint stuff, too much fiberglass in the cars. la lang. la rin masyado nagbebenta ng ok na stuff this year.

i tried to sit down again and make some more riffs out of my trusty ole acoustic guitar...pero wala pa ring lumalabas...anaknangweteng...mahaba na masyado tong slump na to ah. as usual, im trying to listen to stuff that could influence me...but i think i should change what im listening to very soon. i tried to listen to the old e-heads stuff...old rivermaya stuff...pearl jam...paramita...cynthia alexander...mayonnaise. wala eh. try ko naman this week ang foo fighters, juliana hatfield, our lady peace, and fuel...maybe i should try din to listen again to the much older stuff...like the beatles.

which brings to mind...one of my conversations with my bandmate rica during recording. parang nabring up ni monty yung influences...tapos sabi ni rica...black metal stuff daw siya...ako, nasagot ko lang..."the beatles!"...tapos si rica: "huh?! di obvious sa mga ginagawa mo ah". hahaha! wala lang. to set the record straight...slash (yessssss of GnR) made me wanna play the guitar...and violent playground (all hail one of the best opm bands...ever) made me wanna be in a band. pero as rica would put it...my style doesnt reflect these influences at all. after all...the other bands or people that is also in my list include foreign acts such as incubus, pearl jam, toad the wet sprocket, moonpools and caterpillars, the sundays, our lady peace, dishwalla, coldplay, dave matthews band, etc...local acts includes the eraserheads, rivermaya, P.O.T, wolfgang, razorback, and lately...yes, even the dawn.

naisip ko rin bigla na all along...hindi talaga ako cut out for flashy solos...shredding and other stuff that more or less defines how great a guitarist should be. im more of the rythmic guy. melody based player. tipong coldplay...or dave matthews band. kunwari...sa pearl jam, i grew up looking at stone gossard rather than mike mccready. maski na ba si john mayer eh (kahit pano, may mapupulot ka rin dun) ewan ko pero these people...appealed to me more compared to the flashy flashy fast fingers soloey guitar works of the other bands. mike einziger of incubus...on the other hand, is one of the guitarist that i look up to that can do it all. wala lang...i dont think i am making any sense anymore...oh well, but what the heck.

i went to dlsu last friday to eat at kaibigan. lunch out with officemates (one of which was also a co-comsci alumn). wala lang..ibang iba na talaga. pero nakakamiss ang school. sobra. which led me to think na namimiss ko nanaman ang high school at college. yung stress na nafefeel mo during those times...na alam mong madali mo lang malalampasan. na papasa ka naman no matter what. potangina. ibang iba na ngayon eh.

which leads to....the stress and frustrations of today. wala lang. tangna. may banda ka nga...kung ano ano naman ang nangyayari. wala rin. may trabaho ka nga...pagod ka naman lagi. wala pa ring pera dahil maliit ang sweldo (contrary to what other people think...sorry mahirap lang kami whether you like it or not).

i think i gotta straighten out my life na. set my priorities straight. tama na rin siguro yung dreams ko na feeling ko di naman mangyayari. tangnang yan.
